Squam Lakes Natural Science Center
About
The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center invites visitors to get nearer to nature through a two-mile exhibit trail winding through meadows, forests, and marsh boardwalk where native New England animals live in naturalistic habitats. Black bears, mountain lions, river otters, bobcats, and birds of prey are among the permanent residents, providing opportunities for close-range observation that would be impossible in the wild. Squam Lake cruises led by naturalists focus on bald eagles and loons on the lake made famous by the film 'On Golden Pond.' The center is open seasonally from May through early November.
