Vermont Institute of Natural Science
About
The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) operates at the intersection of wildlife rehabilitation and public nature education in the heart of the Quechee Gorge area. Outdoor exhibits bring visitors face-to-face with native raptors โ hawks, owls, eagles, and falcons โ that cannot be returned to the wild due to injury, alongside a songbird aviary and reptile collection. The 60-foot forest canopy walk provides an unusual vantage point on Vermont's forest ecosystem. A working wild bird rehabilitation program operates on site, and daily naturalist-led programs connect visitors directly to the science of bird biology and ecological relationships.
