Arizona Science Center
About
The Arizona Science Center anchors science education in the heart of downtown Phoenix, welcoming more than a million visitors annually to 140,000 square feet of interactive science exploration. Four floors of galleries span the physical sciences, earth sciences, life sciences, technology, and engineering with more than 300 hands-on exhibits designed for all ages. The museum's CREATE® makerspace is a dedicated fabrication and design studio where visitors work with hands-on tools to create, invent, and prototype. Nearby, the Dorrance DOME planetarium presents live star talks and fulldome films covering astronomy and natural wonders. The five-story Giant Screen Theater presents breathtaking large-format films in an immersive viewing environment. The Evans Family SkyCycle provides a thrilling real-world physics lesson as visitors pedal a bicycle along a wire suspended high above the museum's atrium. The Girls in STEM initiative reflects the museum's commitment to broadening access and representation in science and technology fields through targeted programming and community partnerships. For homeschool families, the Arizona Science Center offers structured workshop programs aligned with Arizona academic standards, providing hands-on investigations across science disciplines. The Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF) is hosted at the center, connecting student researchers with scientific mentorship and competition opportunities each spring.
