Perot Museum of Nature and Science
About
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science stands as one of the most distinctive science museums in the United States, housed in a dramatic concrete cube rising five stories above Victory Park in downtown Dallas. Opened in 2012, the museum brings together natural history, physical science, engineering, and human biology under one roof in a bold building designed by architect Thom Mayne of Morphosis. The museum's 11 floors of exhibitsβfive underground levels and five above groundβspan topics from the age of dinosaurs to cutting-edge technology. Visitors can race against a T. rex in the Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall, compete in robot-building competitions in the Texas Instruments Engineering and Innovation Hall, simulate an earthquake in the Roscoe H. Turner Transportation Hall, and journey through the expanding universe in the Expanding Universe Hall. The museum's Discovery Camp provides summer and school-break programs rooted in project-based STEM learning for children from pre-K through high school. The National Geographic Live speaker series brings acclaimed explorers and scientists to Dallas throughout the year, while Thursdays on Tap offers 21+ social events in the museum's galleries for adults. The Perot Museum's dedication to accessibility includes extensive Spanish-language programming and resources designed to serve Dallas's diverse communities. Its rooftop terrace and dramatic glass escalator tower offer sweeping views of the Dallas skyline, making a visit as architecturally memorable as it is educational.
