Exploreum Science Center
About
The Exploreum Science Center has served Mobile, Alabama for over 30 years as the Gulf Coast's premier destination for hands-on science learning. Located in the heart of downtown Mobile, the Exploreum connects families, students, and educators with science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through immersive, experiential exhibits and programs. Hands on Hall is the museum's flagship gallery, featuring the Science Squad HQ and a broad range of interactive STEM stations designed to spark curiosity in visitors of every age. The Wharf of Wonder gallery is a dedicated early childhood space for children ages 5 and under, offering age-appropriate sensory and discovery activities in a safe, playful environment. The ArcelorMittal Calvert Curiosity Factory is the Exploreum's makerspace and STEM lab, housing 15 computers, 3D printers, robotics equipment, and drone programming tools. The ExploreTec STEM Lab extends this hands-on technology learning with structured programs for school groups and community participants. The Poarch Creek Digital Dome Theater presents immersive fulldome films covering astronomy, natural history, and science topics. Exploreum Academy rounds out the center's educational offerings with after-school enrichment programs, summer camps, field trip experiences, and overnight programs—making the Exploreum a year-round learning hub for Mobile's youth.
